Check up, scaling & treatment planning

Regular visits to the dentist for check-ups and cleans are an important part of minting excellent dental heath. At Access dental we recommend having a check-up at least every six months along with a good at home oral hygiene routine to maintain a healthy mouth. Regular checkups also allow your dentist to stay ahead of any developing dental issues with your teeth and gums that can prevent costly treatments and on-going health problems in the future.

What’s involved?

  1. Dental Check-up
  2. Scale and Polish

Dental check-ups involve a thorough examination of your mouth, gums and teeth. Dental check-ups can help assist with identifying and offering treatment plans for any dental issue. Our dental team will check your teeth for any cavities, plaque and overall gum heath. Depending on your oral exam, previous dental history and potential risk for developing cavities an X-ray may be required. X-rays also provide dentists a clear view of your jaw alignment as well as any decay between teeth. X-rays are can also be helpful with identifying, abscesses, cysts or impacted teeth.

Once the initial assessment is completed our dentists or hygienists will begin removing any plaque and tartar build up from your teeth. Once the teeth are clean, they are then polished to remove any staining on the teeth. After the examination and cleaning our dentists will discuss any potential treatment plans.
